night-time ponderings
it's the night-time that opens my eyes, my ears, and heart. my eyes grow wider, i can hear myself think clearly, and my feelings start to pour out. it's both a blessing and a curse. especially when there's a downpour and nothing to protect me from this storm of emotion. but then, after dodging the terrible bullets of thoughts that try to wash over me, i accept that i can't fight it right now and in the end, it cleanses me. i wake up the next morning feeling fresher, brighter, and more full of promise than ever.

I'm back!
So yet again I fail at regularly updating this thing... Not like anyone really reads this thing (with the exception of a Miss Audrey ;D)...I wasn't really going to update until much later, but looking at Audrey's website (and being gently coaxed by her to update) encouraged and inspired me to update. My life isn't too exciting, really xD. I mostly enjoy the little things, because i've been so busy with working in this psychology lab at school + school itself, of course. I've been focused on doing well in the lab and of course, climbing my way up the academic ladder to enlightenment and success :D. But here is a list of the random, colorful events and thoughts that have passed through my life and mind:
-As a belated birthday gift, my little brother, David, took me to Color Me Mine :]]. I picked out a dino bank and he let me go crazy on it for hours, decorating it :D. Here are the before piccies...
-Lunar New Year this year was amazing :]. It was a combination of Lunar New Year, my PapaBear's birthday, and my older brother, Steven's, going away party (he moved to Vietnam). We had a huge barbecue thing which included 5-7 entrees, and 3-4 desserts. We ate over the course of 3-4 hours :D. Guests included some of my cousins, my boyfriend, my best friend, and my brother's old roomie. It was a good time :].
-Feb. 26 was by far the coldest night I had ever encountered in my life (it got as cold as about 32 degrees Fahrenheit xP) . That was the night of this annual concert at my school, inappropriately and ironically called "Heat"...should have added "in need of" in front of it xD. Despite the stinging and bitter cold and muddiness, i had a blast :]]. There were tons of after parties afterwards, but i was so exhausted and way too impatient and hungry to wait for a ride to go anywhere, that i went home. My good friend Mayra later told me about her epic night filled with 3 parties that she barely remembered, full of drama (she called me tipsy because a drunk mutual acquaintance of ours was convinced i was cross with him because i wasn't present at the parties), she kissed a girl playing spin-the-bottle, she fondled someone (what else is new? ;P) and of course, she didn't wake up fully until 5pm the following day :P. And I lived vicariously through her. I don't even know if I could ever party that much, especially after being at a concert for 4 hours without any food or water.
-Because both my boyfriend Kevin and & wanted to do something for each other, we actually celebrated Valentine's Day twice :D. And i went out on a Valentine's date with two of my gal pals (Cheesecake Factory!) on the day of. The first celebration of Valentine's day, however, was my little cutesie master plan :]. First, Kevin came over, and to distract him, I had him go over to my friend Ryan's place to hang out. For about 2 hours or so, i slaved over a hot stove, making a new recipe i had recently invented (alfredo pasta with my own special sauce--alfredo sauce with chopped mushrooms, onions, and sun dried tomatoes & lemon chicken) along with a red velvet cake (i never bake pastries, so making this cake for the first time ever made me nervous xP). I also put two mugs on the dinner table: one with Sweetart Candy Hearts (none of those gross chalk-like things xP) and one with an assortment of chocolates (i.e. crunch, mr. goodbar, reeses, chocolate kisses) in pretty valentine wrapping; i also bought him a cute Val's day card made for boys that came with little cut-out cars to play with on the card's roads (the card had a little town drawn on it ...). When he came over, he was pleasantly surprised to smell and see dinner made. Afterwards, i dragged him to go see Gnomeo and Juliet-- what he kept hinting at that he wanted to see. Overall, i was pleasantly surprised to see how pleased he was to get treated out on Valentine's day (well, our FIRST valentine's day of the year >;D). I thought it wouldn't really be too much fun just because i cook for him all the time...but he loved it. Oh, we also visited Mayra at work (she works at a convenient store) :]].
-I went to my first gay club, and by golly, were the [straight] men aggressive in their advances. I've heard people tell me time and time again that guys are straight up crazy in gay clubs (no pun intended :P) but i didn't believe it until i experienced it firsthand. I went with Mayra and a few other acquaintances. I wore flats because i knew we'd be there from 10pm until 3am; Mayra attempted to wear hooker heels (no longer possessing the skill of dancing in hooker heels all night like crazy, she was forced to go barefoot halfway through the night xD). We danced with gay boys (Mayra got one of the dancers in briefs to dance in front of me :P) and tried finding other people--we actually ran into most of the gay boys we know at school! Anyways, so a few times, we would walk through the crowd looking for people. The first time we weaved through the crowd, from afar i saw a guy scoping me out. As we brushed passed him, he reached out and grabbed my hip. Not accidentally or casually brushed-- GRABBED. But we weaved so quickly through the crowd, we lost him after a while. Later, Mayra still holding my hand so we wouldn't lose each other, a different guy tried to separate us, giving me a look that said "hey baby, you should be holding my hand instead ;D". We lost him too lol. Third guy i thought was gay because he had nice eyebrows. But i noticed he kept glancing back at me, and i realized he was straight. He made his way towards me and asked me to dance. I said yes. After a while though, things got weird. I didn't notice at first because 1) it was hot 2) i was sweating 3) he was warm and sweating and 4) my neck isn't very sensitive anyways---I started to notice that the breathing on my neck stopped and was replaced by him kissing my neck xP. I moved my neck away from his lips, danced with him a little more(all the while continuing to swat away his advances--literally) & shortly excused myself to join myself back with Mayra.
Now some have asked me :"Why would straight guys go to gay clubs anyways?"
My theory is this: At a straight club, some girls to go with their girlfriends, not to meet guys, so they are more on their guard. Other times, they are there with boyfriends who aren't present at the time when guys try to make their moves on these targeted girls, only to magically reappear when this form of hunting occurs, resulting in tons of drama and violence xD. At a gay club, however, although these same girls go to dance the night away with girls and gay boys, the difference is this: because it is a gay club, the girls assume that everyone is gay, making it a safe space, and therefore, letting their guards down. BIG MISTAKE. Straight guys, knowing this, go to gay clubs with the purpose of trying to catch a girl. Being guys, this works out strategically because they are pretty much perfectly camouflaged in the crowd as they await for their prey to dance on by.
Anyways. Back to the story xD. Mayra also got her fair share of attention. First guy to hit on her was some fat, middle aged, drunk guy. Second guy was the first guy who grabbed at me. Third incident was the first guy trying to hit on her again--she responded by brandishing her hooker heels at him, ready to stab him. She pushed him in the chest shouting "NO! NO!", threatening him with her heels, and using her other hand to grab my arm and throw us into the crowd. He looked like he was ready to hit her back, shouting "What the fuck?!" but nothing happened. In hindsight, it was pretty hilarious and of course, touching that her first instinct was to protect me :]]. Awsss. I love Mayra :]].
Anyways, besides being grabbed at a lot of the night, almost witnessing a fight between my friend and a drunk horny guy, and having to wait 30 minutes for the owner of the car we came in to compose himself (the guy we came with got into drama, as usual, and was crying by the end of the night, refusing to leave the club until we pestered him like crazy in the cold and security kicked him out), it was a great experience that i wouldn't mind repeating :D. Maybe not with all of the same company, but definitely with Mayra.
Anyways, it's getting late. Those are my updates and rants for now. I will post pictures and more random updates soon!

the start of fall
I know i've been gone for a while....but since it was the end of summer, i was trying to cram in as much fun as possible while i still could xD. I have yet to post all of the pictures i wanted to...but things have just been hectic.
Updates: i just moved into my new apartment and i love it :].I am a college girl, and last year i lived in the dorms, so this year will be different. I'm so used to living with 40- 50 other people just a few seconds' walking distance away so my very own apartment (with 2 other roomies) is quite a change. Of course we have neighbors(that unfortunately we can hear) but it's different than hallmates.
I will recap soon about the end of my summer.....until next time....

summer updates
Nothing too crazy to report...I've just been busy driving a lot, getting in practice and such, seeing friends here and there. Nothing too eventful.
-Got my license the 27th of July :]] (yes, i'm a late bloomer :P) so i've been trying to run tons of errands to get the hang of it.
-Saw Step Up in 3D with my friend Tom. It was lame. As he put it : "this is Dance Porn. there's no plot, but it's awesome!" hahahaha.
-the 24th of July was my friend Ellen's birthday. I need to post pics of that :D. We went to this asian place nearby and took Sticki Pickis (aka purikura).
-Last week helped my best friend Nour with her garage sale. Just an excuse to see her :]]. Got a sandal tan! (which is great because my sandals are Grecian inspired :3)
Upcoming:
-Tomorrow, going to Six Flags with Kevin as a late celebration of his birthday; then going out for crepes!
-Saturday, possibly hanging out with my girl Audrey :]].
-Next week, Tuesday, Six Flags again, but this time, a sort-of double date with Kevin, his cousin Paul, and Paul's ex. It's bound to be kinda awkward. I mean, just a year ago, the 4 of us went on a sort-of double date with them to Disneyland when they were dating..... ooooh well.
Other than that, i've just finished rewatching Will&Grace. I've been watching The Secret Life of the American Teenager (of course), Pretty Little Liars, Plain Jane (new "thing" with my big bro Steven :D), & a bit of Smallville. Productive summer on my part, eh? :P.
I also think at some point that Kevin and i are going to take another mini-road trip to my hometown, Redlands. So if you Californians know where that is, that's where i'm from :]]. & possibly go to this water park. The name escapes me xP.
Anyways, that's all i got for updates!

First of all (concerning loves ;]), today is Kevin's birthday, so yay! :]]. We went out to dinner with his family and afterwords we went back to his house to play Apples to Apples. Fun game. It is also our 15 month anniversary today! So hooray!

Yes, so i've been M.I.A. lately.... and....
i'm pretty crazy about miss M.I.A. :D! Download the new album for free!!!! Spread the love! Her new album is definitely trippier, i'd say. I still la-la-la-lahve her though :]]]. Crazy fan girl since 2005!

In other news, nothing too crazy has been going on. Updates:
-Saw How to Train Your Dragon. It was adorable, minus the awkwardly thrown- in- there love thing between hiccup and that chick....
-Saw Despicable Me. Freaking adorable!
-At some point i'm going to see Inception; i heard it was amazing.
-So i finished watching all 6 seasons of Desperate Housewives as of last week. Sigh. And i've been rewatching Will & Grace as of 2 days ago xD. Pretty soon i'm going to get to finding Sex and the City online. Although i've seen all of the seasons, i'm in the mood to watch it xP.
-->Future plans:
-So the much anticipated trip to Northern California has been canceled because my mother is in need of my care (she recently underwent breast reconstructive surgery and is still recovering; she is a breast cancer survivor); so i have tonight, and two days next week to look forward to. Tonight i'll be going to a cute little tea shop called Cafe Veronese that my boyfriend Kevin and i love to go to. Tomorrow is his birthday; however, the two are not connected. We're also going to Panera. Yummmm. I need soup (ew menstrual cramps). Instead, we're going to Six Flags for his birthday, later next week. Then on Saturday (24th) it's my friend Ellen's birthday and we're going out to dinner, sticki pickis and cake :]. Should be a nice night out with the girls!

I know-- it's been a while since i've written. Here's a recap:
-Memorial Day weekend, 2 weekends before Hell Week (finals week), i decided to take a much needed, long over due, spontaneous solo trip down to San Diego to visit my big bro Steven. My initial plan was to take the bus early in the morning to catch the only metrolink going out to Orange County (in order to transfer and take Amtrak down to San Diego); Buttttttt, i missed my stop. xP. So i freaked out, tried calling my friend to see if she or anyone else could take me back, but that didn't work out. So i waited until i saw a stop i recognized, the stop at the mall. Called Steven frantically so he could find me another way to get to Orange County....So i took the bus to Orange County, then once in OC, i got lost again, so i called the bus whatever hotline thing, and found my way. Bought my tickets (round trip tickets) and i was on my way. The trip should have taken me about 3 hours, but since i messed up, it took me about 7 hours hahahaha xP. But it was definitely a learning experience. Once i got there, it was great to see Steven. He picked me up, took me back to his apartment, I met his friend Andrea, he took me to Costco and then made me a nice home cooked meal (i had been craving one for what felt like forever!). That night, went to a house party. Half of the people there were old dance team mates of my brother's, so it was fun to see drunk people ball room dancing. The downside, some drunk guy tried to dance with me and touched my neck. But he quickly backed off. This other creeper danced with me (i kept my distance) and he was so incredibly cheesy. First he threw this line at me : "you're gorgeous....in a platonic way"...wtf? lol. Then he kissed my hand. Andrea was standing off to the side, protective, and waiting to cut in if anything crazy happened. I laughed the kiss off. Then he kissed my hand again. Over it, i thanked him, and left him there, confused. He was such a creeper hahaha. Second day was chill. I went to the mall with Andrea, bought a bikini(Steven wanted to take me to the beach but he forgot to tell me to buy a swim suit!), went out for tea, and came back. At night Steven and i saw Sex and the City 2. I was so offended by a lot of the messages the movie was sending out about the Middle East and how they treat women by their manner of dress. I felt it was ignorant (I feel this way because my best friend is Middle Eastern and i respect her culture and hold it up to such a high esteem). It was better than expected, the clothes were great, the plot was slightly better than the first movie, but for the most part, i didn't like it. I normally don't like sequels (the first movie counts as a sequel too xP. I'm a big fan of the show!). The final day, woke up and went to brunch with my bro, his roomies, and his good friend Allison (absolutely love her!). Brunch was great :]. That night, Allison came over and helped me with my application and resume for an undergrad research assistant job i want to be a part of ...it's this professor's lab on campus. The job doesn't pay, but it definitely pays off. It counts as 2 units and is a great thing to have on my record! Anyways, overall, San Diego Trip alone = success!
-Weekend before finals week, Kevin came over and we spent the whole day sleeping and watching movies lol.
-Finals week. 3 finals, all written. And i think i did well. Let's hope for straight A's!
-Today (or technically, yesterday, Sunday) was my big bro's graduation from UCSD! :]. I'll post up pictures from both the San Diego trip and the graduation pics soon!
-I'm excited for summer. SO SO SO excited. Tons of plans....i'll update later. Now: desperate housewives!

i want curly hair
Random: last night after i took a shower i took off the towel from my head and my hair ended up wavy-ish curly. Sigh. Wish it could like this all the time :{.
